Happy Kid!
"I'm not reading that stupid book!" Is a line from the book "Happy Kid". The book "Happy Kid!" is about a boy Kyle, his mom thinks he has life and relationship problem. So she goes out to the store and buys him the book "Happy Kid!". He said he would never read that book. Although his mom said she'd give him a dollar every chapter he reads. He said he still wouldn't read it, but he would secretly read it when nobody was around. Every time he opened the book, it would flip to the same chapter every time. "Don't think bad think good!". So the next day he keeps trying to think good when a bad thing happens. It didn't work out for him, so he went to the book hoping it would flip open to a new chapter. Well it sure did. "You don't even have to try". So he told his mom he started to read the book, his dad and sister laughed, but his mom gave him two dollars for the two chapters that he had read. He was understanding the chapter. So the next day in school he didn't try to think good, and it still went bad. He told his mom that he doesn't think bad, everything is really just that bad for him. The next chapter his book flipped open to was telling hi to list some things that may make him happy. He spent all day trying to figure out what to write down, he couldn't think of anything. After school he went home and told his mom that the book is stupid and a joke. She told him to keep reading and if you think it's bad by the end of the week then you don't have to read it. When he went up to his room he grabbed the book and it flipped open to another new chapter. "It's not about what everyone else thinks, it's about what you think". He thought this was a sign of something to do maybe after school. The next day at school he asked his best friend Luke what he should do as an after school activity. Luke insisted he take Tae Kwon Do with him. When he got to his house he told his mom about taking Tae Kwon Do. She said he could if he really wanted to. The first day of Tae kwon Do he felt weird because he got changed at the dojan and saw his principal in the locker room. When he got out they were already doing their exercises, so he hurried to get next to Luke. Luke is a green belt and Kyle just started so he is only a white belt, so they didn't get to be by each other. Kyle had to be in a group of little kids and his principal. They were doing a kicking drill, him and his principal got partnered up first. They were kicking lightly at first then they got harder and harder until Kyle kicked his principal so harder he fell over and got the wind knocked or kicked out of him. He actually felt pretty good after he did that. At school the next day were SAT tests. His teacher gave the class a practice question before hand, turns out the practice question was on the real test. Some people in the class wanted to inform the principal and some people didn't. One girl in Particular was trying to get Kyle to go with her. He always said no of course. Then when he grabbed "Happy Kid!" it flipped open to the newest chapter. "Take a chance and go for it". So he went back to the girl, in school and told her that he would go with her but she would always be the one to talk never him. She insisted on telling him right after school. After school bells rang they went to the office and informed him about the screw up. He said it was just a miner mistake and that it was no big deal. She demanded to take the test over again because that teacher knew it was going to be on the test. The principal called him down. When he got there he knew what was about to happen. This book "Happy Kid!" that I read as you can see is overall pretty good, although that's not the whole summary I mean I don't want to spoil it for you. I would recommend this book to you, because it's pretty funny to tell you the truth.
